KOKORO Tenugui
A clean, original KendoStar Tenugui featuring the Japanese character 心, Kokoro, with an English explanation of its meaning in Kendo.
The KOKORO Tenugui is an original KendoStar design, created around one of the most important ideas in Kendo: Kokoro. Written as 心, Kokoro is often translated as “heart” or “mind”, but in Kendo it carries a much deeper meaning.
Kokoro is not just emotion.
In Kendo, it includes the inner heart, mind, intention, character, and will of the Kendoka, all of which support correct technique, correct body movement, and correct action.
Meaning of the Design

Kokoro
Translation:
The inner “heart” and mind of a Kendoka, including intention, emotion, character, and will, regarded as the foundation of correct technique and body movement.
