HIBANA Jissengata Shiai Shinai

Made from select cuts of deep smoked Madake Bamboo for a sharp, responsive feel and refined performance balance.

KendoStar HIBANA Jissengata Shiai Shinai

HIBANA is based on our original JUNKI model, a very popular deluxe Jissengata Shinai. Its balance is designed to keep more of the weight closer to the hands, making the tip feel lighter and allowing for sharp, fast strikes with precision and ease.

Light, Responsive Balance

Designed for Kendoka who prefer a quick, lively feel in the hands, with a tip that moves cleanly and easily through each strike.

Deep Smoked Madake Bamboo

Made using deep smoked Bamboo, often referred to as “Bio”, giving the Shinai its rich dark brown colour and distinctive character.

Complete With Leather Fittings

Each HIBANA Jissengata Shiai comes complete with leather fittings, ready for use.

Favoured By Top Practitioners

Smoked Shinai are currently popular with many of Japan’s top Kendo practitioners thanks to their feel, appearance, and performance.

Made using deep smoked Bamboo, the smoking process infuses the staves with carbon, which is said to provide additional flexibility and help reduce breakage. For many Kendoka, this means a Shinai that feels both dependable and refined in use.

Second set of three of this “Hibana” series. They are really good! And way more durable than average jissengata shinai. Perfectly fine for everyday keiko use. As always, KS service second to none. Ordered on Wednesday, got it on Monday, at the other end of the world.

Customer photo review of *NEW!* - Quality Smoked Dobari Jissengata Shinai ‘HIBANA’ - Set of *3*

Super nice shinai. Very nice feeling on the hands, it feels head-light but not too much, gives you a good feedback from the tip of your shinai. The bamboo and fittings are first class, and the smoked looks adds a bit of finesse to it. I'll definitely buy more of these in the future! As always, quality products and customer service second to none. Order these from Argentina on a Thursday evening, next Wednesday the DHL buy was ringing my bell.
