The KOTETSU is part of the TECHNO SHINAI® series – representing a new generation of Shinai technology that blends traditional form with advanced material science. Through a unique strengthening process, this bamboo Shinai is engineered to be more durable, longer-lasting, and better suited for consistent performance under intense keiko and shiai conditions.

What Makes KOTETSU Different?

Rather than simply making the bamboo harder or more rigid, the TECHNO SHINAI® process focuses on improving the way the bamboo absorbs and disperses impact. The result is a Shinai with improved flexibility, better resilience against cracking or splintering, and significantly enhanced longevity—especially in dry or cold conditions.

This Shinai is available in two classic forms to suit your preference. Both feature the same enhanced bamboo construction:

• Dobari Style – Features a wider body near the tsuka, making the tip feel lighter. Excellent for fast, consecutive strikes. Slightly less durable due to its shape.
  
• Koto Style – Evenly balanced from top to bottom for solid, one-shot strikes. Slightly more durable than Dobari.
