This removable pad fits directly behind the Ago (throat guard) of the Men, to give extra protection against Tsuki thrusts.

Removable and size adjustable - this protector can be used on any kind of Kendo Men, and does not require any modifications. Easy to attach and remove. The included string in first attached to the hoops of the guard, and formed into a loop approximately similar in size to the Uchiwa (face padding) of the Men. The string is then tucked firmly between the Uchiwa, and the Menbuton, keeping the protector in place.

This product is patented by the All Japan Budogu Cooperative - the very same organization that developed the SSP Shinai safety sticker.

Tsuki guard a must! I have to say this is one of the best things ever created for bogu protection the move tsuki is so dangerous, we should shield ourselves at all costs, we never know who might tsuki us in a match and use too much force. I know can go with confidence and trust in myself if I go into a match without worrying of being hurt in my throat because this device really protects me from all impact taking in the tsuki. I truly appreciate kendostar having this product here on the website so we can really be shielded and have this "wall" against the mighty tsuki attack.

Be safe is better than sorry. This tsuki protector does point downwards and protects the neck when a shinai passes through the gap of Men. Somehow giving me extra bit of confidence to go in, when the opponent starts to play aggressively with tsuki.

Nice Additional Protection When I started learning Jodan I was concerned about getting tsuki'ed under the tsukidare. This protector took the worry away. It fits on to any men and, once on, is hard to tell its even there. Only a few times has a shinai really slipped under and the tsukidare and each time this protector caught it and saved my throat. Its totally worth it.

Good addition. If the posture broke having the Men tilted up, this protector generally keep pointing down thus still protects the front of the neck. It makes me less worry about Tsuki and therefore having a better Kamae.

Good protection As protective as its rivals, but adaptable to any men making it superior in my modest opinion. It could do with a bit more padding, but honestly I can't really complain.

AN EASY UPGRADE TO ANY MEN As far as I can tell, there is only one men manufacturer that has this guard as standard equipment. This guard makes it easy to upgrade ANY men, new or old. Also, because it is removable, you can take it off and wash it if necessary or try it on another men if you have more than one.
