VANGUARD SENTINEL is a brand new style of Bogu designed especially to fit into the VANGUARD series. It embodies the philosophy of the series - being protective, stylish, and durable - whilst also having its own identity.

Inspired by the designs of Bogu popular with top police Kendoka in Japan, from which the term Keishi-gata is derived.

The strike zones feature extra-wide stitching, for exceptional protection, with innovative double-Gunome stitching on the Mendare and Tare panels ensuring you get both superior durability, and an unbeatable appearance.

Measuring Guide:


(A) Measure from the tip of the chin, to the furthest point at the crown. Keep mouth closed, and keep tape in front of ears. Hold the tape still with your finger, whilst another person takes the measurement. Tape should be reasonably tight, but not squeezing.	B) Measure around the forehead at the widest point, where you would wear a hat. Keep the tape above your ears and eyebrows.	C) Measure from the bottom of the chin, to the middle of the eyes. For accuracy, have someone help you.


D) Measure from the wrist joint, to the tip of the middle finger.	E) Measure in a slight diagonal line around the knuckle and palm area.	F) Measure around the palm, with all fingers and thumb closed.

VANGUARD SENTINEL is reinforced with the highest grade, genuine Aizome deerskin, which not only looks beautiful, but provides exceptional durability. Please note, that due to the nature of genuine Aizome dye, the colour will bleed when touched, and will leave blue marks on your skin when it is worn. This gets better with time.

MADE TO ORDER - VANGUARD SENTINEL is a premium Kendo Bogu set, using only the best materials available. This means that you get a perfect fit, designed especially to your specifications. No corners are cut in production, and you are supplied with an individually crafted Bogu set, made by expert artisans. For this reason we estimate production time to take around 12-16 weeks per VANGUARD SENTINEL set, however, this is intended to be approximate - sometimes it takes a little longer, sometimes it does not. In all cases, our craftsmen will work to the full extent of their capacity to produce your bespoke VANGUARD SENTINEL set, and you can be rest assured that it will always be worth the wait.
