I ordered the kendostar all purpose and one junki dobari shinai. I've only used them once but already this shinai feel amazing. The all purpose balance is on point, and the junki while having a light tip feels very sturdy on the hands. The all purpose really surpised me, feels great overall ,looks amazing and it has the ideal balance at least for my liking (something closer to a koto shinai, but not overly tip heavy) Both shinai are superb and look even better in person, definitely recommended.
As always high quality shinai at a reasonable price delivered quickly. Couldn't be happier, and always recommend purchasing from Kendostar.
Le fait de pouvoir choisir 3 types de shinai différents est vraiment un plus .
Ordered two of the RANBU smoked standards and one JUNKI dobari. The JUNKI is a great shinai with good leather fittings and decent bamboo. However, I'm pretty disappointed with the RANBU smoked standard shinais. Out of the box, the sides of the bamboo slats were sharp and didn't fit together very well causing the salts to get stuck after striking. After about 3 months of use I've also noticed the part of the tsuka that is folded over and has black stitching is starting to deteriorate, despite always being stored correctly and away from moisture. Additionally I have noticed when doing suburi they tend to squeak? very odd. I don't think I will be purchasing the RANBU smoked standards again, but the JUNKI is good.
Great to be able to mix and match. Able to try something new without feeling over committed.
