This set focuses on useful, meaningful protective features rather than unnecessary decoration. The result is a dependable Bogu set that works well for many different levels of practice.

Men

The VANGUARD Men uses extra wide 10mm Pitch-Zashi stitching through the Futon to provide excellent cushioning. Additional inner padding is included to further improve protection in the main strike zone.

The Mendare uses 5mm Naname-Zashi stitching, helping the Men keep a clean shape while improving durability and fit. The IBB Mengane is light, strong, and well balanced, with reinforced titanium bars in the strike zone.

VANGUARD Extra Protective KendoStar Men

Kote

The VANGUARD Kote are designed to combine protection, flexibility, and durability. They feature matching 10mm Pitch-Zashi construction and additional padding in the strike zone, helping protect the hands during hard Keiko.

The wrist joint uses a flexible and durable original cut, while the palms are made from tough synthetic leather. Yoroi-Kazari is used on the fists to support manoeuvrability and ease of movement.

Do

The VANGUARD set includes a toughened black 50 piece type synthetic Do-Dai. This gives the set a clean, traditional appearance while keeping it practical and durable for regular training.

The Do is supplied with a Kurozan Mune, and customers can choose from the available Mune design options.

Tare

The VANGUARD Tare is made to offer a balance of protection, comfort, and shape. The Mae-Obi uses soft 10mm stitching for comfort around the waist, while the Tare panels use 5mm stitching for a crisp shape and improved durability.

Measuring Guide

Please follow the measuring guide carefully when ordering. Accurate measurements help us supply the most suitable size.

Men Measuring Guide
Men measurement A guide A Measurement Measure from the tip of the chin to the furthest point at the crown. Keep your mouth closed and keep the tape in front of the ears. The tape should be reasonably tight, but not squeezing.
Men measurement B guide B Measurement Measure around the forehead at the widest point, where you would wear a hat. Keep the tape above your ears and eyebrows.
Men measurement C guide C Measurement Measure from the bottom of the chin to the middle of the eyes. For accuracy, have someone help you.
Kote Measuring Guide
Kote measurement D guide D Measurement Measure from the wrist joint to the tip of the middle finger.
Kote measurement E guide E Measurement Measure in a slight diagonal line around the knuckle and palm area.
Kote measurement F guide F Measurement Measure around the palm, with all fingers and thumb closed.
