HIBIKI Women's Dobari Shinai
A premium women's Dobari Jissengata Shinai with a conventional round grip, for light, precise handling, made to your choice of fittings.
The HIBIKI Women's Dobari Shinai is a premium competition Shinai made to the women's specification. Its Dobari body, fuller through the lower section, and its thinner Jissengata tip both bring the balance closer to the hands, so it swings lightly and handles precisely, with a conventional round grip that needs no getting used to.
Its name, 響, means resonance or echo. Like every model in the Premium range, HIBIKI is made to your specification: choose your fittings and Tsuru colour, or order the bamboo only.
Light and Precise
With the balance drawn towards the hands, HIBIKI feels light from the first swing and responds precisely to small movements of the hands. The conventional round grip keeps it familiar.
It suits skilled, attacking Kendoka who use a wide range of techniques: Shikake-Waza from close distance, quick combinations, Oji-Waza, Hiki-Waza, and fast Tobikomi-Waza.

All our Shinai are made according to the All Japan Kendo Federation and International Kendo Federation standards. The weights below are the minimum and the lengths the maximum set out in the All Japan Kendo Federation guidelines for each size.
Bamboo contains natural oil that dries out over time. To help your Shinai keep its proper weight, please oil it regularly.

It suits skilled, attacking Kendoka who use a wide range of techniques, from experienced competitors to competing juniors.
Choose Your Fittings
Fitted options are supplied fully assembled, with Tsuka, Sakigawa, Nakayui, and a Tsuru in your chosen colour. The options differ only in the Tsuka: the other parts are the same. Or order the bamboo only and fit your own.
