A bold, original KendoStar Tenugui featuring the phrase 一生剣命 and the KendoStar motto #KendoIsLife.
The ISSHŌ KENMEI Tenugui is an original KendoStar design, created around a play on the well-known Japanese phrase 一生懸命, Isshō Kenmei, which means to try one’s very hardest.
In this design, the character 懸 has been replaced with 剣, the character for sword. This gives the phrase the same reading, Isshō Kenmei, but with a Kendo-inspired meaning: dedicating one’s life to the sword.
Kendo is Life.
This Tenugui expresses the spirit behind #KendoIsLife: not simply doing Kendo as a hobby, but approaching it with effort, commitment, and a lifelong connection to the sword.

I got this for free with my recent Vanguard bogu purchase. Couldn't believe its only £10, it feels really nice! It's also bigger than my old tenugui so easier to mount firmly on my head! Thank you so much for the present KendoStar!

Nice pun
Got it with my bogu purchase. I own several other tenugui but this is my default because I quite like the pun (haha) and the colour. It sits on my head rather well too, not sure if it has anything to do with the fabric or anything.
Decent
Received for free with the bogu, very much appreciated. Decent quality, looks good, but I find the quote 一生剣命 slightly over the top. Very few people actually commits to the way of the sword. I am certainly not one of them. Therefore, I feel uncomfortable wearing this Tenugui around practitioners who read Kanji.

Very pleased with the color & quality of the tenugui I ordered. Will be a nice surprise for my son for his birthday. Pleasantly surprised with how quickly it arrived considering it had to arrive from the U.K. & during more Covid lockdowns.
Great Tenugui
Pretty much what the title says. Came nicely packaged with a sticker and an info card (made in Japan, too!). The dyeing is sharp and easy to read, and the material is a little thicker and more substantial than other tenugui I have used. It is very easy to tie and sticks on your head.

I received this one with my bogu set "MYRMIDON", it is really nice materials, I just with we had the option when placing the order to choose, the quality is really good, but there is some really cool ones here :-)

perfect size
This one came with my bogu set and it´s super cool, all the tenugui I used before were too small and kept falling in the middle of my practice, this one is larger and stays on event in the most demanding keiko, also the printing quality is really good. a must buy!

Me encanta este tenugui, la frase es muy acertada, la calidad del material y la escritura es muy buena, los extremos tienen algunos hilos pero se cortan y quedan perfectos, es un poco más largo y facilita ponerlo.

I love this tenugui, the phrase is very accurate, the quality of the material and the writing is very good, the ends have some threads but they are cut and are perfect, it is a bit longer and makes it easier to put it on.
Longer is better
I like my new tenugui.
First the message ist true...
and second the material is a little bit longer than normal.
For that it is easier to wrap and it holds better.
