The MIRAI Junior Bogu Set is designed specifically with younger Kendoka in mind. Junior Bogu needs to protect effectively, but it also needs to be light, flexible, comfortable, and easy for a child to move in. MIRAI balances those requirements with a practical Orizashi specification built for regular Keiko.
Extra cushioning is concentrated in areas that receive frequent impact, while the parts of the Bogu that need to move with the body are kept softer and more flexible. This helps younger Kendoka train with confidence without making the set unnecessarily heavy or restrictive.

The Men uses a hybrid construction designed to balance impact absorption and flexibility. The crown area is more heavily cushioned to help absorb repeated Men strikes, while the Men-dare are kept more flexible so they sit naturally around a smaller frame and do not restrict shoulder movement.
The Men uses a lightweight Duralumin Mengane, helping keep overall weight down while maintaining the protection required for regular practice.
Kote
The Kote use a lightweight Orizashi construction with additional protection around the main strike area. The palm is made from durable synthetic material selected to provide a comfortable grip while standing up to regular use.
The overall construction is intended to remain flexible enough for younger hands to grip and control the Shinai naturally.
Do
The set includes a lightweight reinforced resin Do, chosen for its balance of durability, impact resistance, and manageable weight.
The Mune is finished with the traditional Onigumo design, giving the set a distinctive but classically styled appearance.
Tare

Please follow the measuring guide carefully when ordering. Accurate measurements allow us to select the most appropriate junior size. Please enter the child's actual measurements rather than adding extra centimetres for growing room.
Men Measuring Guide
A Measurement
Measure from the tip of the chin to the furthest point at the crown. Keep the mouth closed and keep the tape in front of the ears. The tape should be reasonably tight, but not squeezing.
B Measurement
Measure around the forehead at the widest point, where you would wear a hat. Keep the tape above the ears and eyebrows.
C Measurement
Measure from the bottom of the chin to the middle of the eyes. For accuracy, have someone help you.
Kote Measuring Guide
D Measurement
Measure from the wrist joint to the tip of the middle finger.
E Measurement
Measure in a slight diagonal line around the knuckle and palm area.
F Measurement
Measure around the palm, with all fingers and thumb closed.
