Absolutely fantastic. Really heavy and great for practice indoors. I was concerned that despite it's short length, I would still be hitting the ceilings in the house especially with some of the light fittings. This hasn't been the case though and I'm really pleased! I've been able to practice inside without worrying. I would highly recommend this product it's very weighty and really high quality too. The delivery was really quick too. Fantastic!
Great quality, quite heavy but very satisfying to use, and is a game changer if you have a low ceiling.
It's heavy, which is a nice challenge and good way to strengthen your muscles. The balance is nice. And as it is short, no more excuses not to practice at home!
Absolutely love it! It finally allows me to suburi at home due to the short length. The weight is very nice to strengthen your arms but does not feel too heavy. It is also very well balancend! Definitely recommend!
Thanks!!!!
Sufficiently weighty to feel like a shinai for suburi but with the obvious advantage that I can use it indoors without damaging my kitchen ceiling.
Amazing to train at home without worrying to break everything. The feeling is definitely different than an actual shinai but it it's perfect for training. I wanted to build it myself but they manage the weight distribution better than I could have ever done. Price is a bit steep IMHO but quality is good. No regret on the purchase.
Very effective indoor, when rain is coming.
As described. Well made. Will help with home kendo practice as I have ceiling fans. Kept hitting them with the shanai
Feels heavier than a regular shinai, but I love it. I can now finally train at home!
Able to practice Suburi at home without destroying everything. Thank you.
Awesome! Sturdier (and heavier) than it looks!
Absolutely love it and enjoy this purchase. I live in a tiny apartment in Berlin and this lets me get some suburi in at home without worrying about hitting the ceiling or walls. Definitely recommend!
Great for suburi at home or office.
Weighted and balanced like a steel katana I bought this as a replacement for my carbon steel iaito for indoor training. I fitted it with a woven leather tsuba and traditional leather tsubadome, also from KendoStar. In this way, the Furisen will balance 11-12cm away from the tsuba and weigh just under 1100g. It has the exact same balance as my real katana, and weighs only 100g more. It handles almost exactly the same. The only difference is that a real sword's grip is oval and the Furisen's is round, but because you can feel the seam of the tsukagawa, you still have tactile feedback to maintain your hasuji and it still feels quite natural. If you want to use a leather tsuba, you may need to very slightly enlarge the tsuba's opening with a round file. Not much, the procedure will last only a few seconds. The leather tsubadome fits as-is. The build quality and fit and finish is phenomenal. 100% recommended as an indoor iaito for kenjutsuka and iaidoka, and as a suburi tool for kendoka.
Excelent for apartment keiko! Im very pleased with this Suburi Shinai, it allows me to do large swings inside the apartment without touching the roof, plus the weight is high enough to workout your arms and mind your form when you are tired.
Home shinai This item is really useful thing because now I can do kendo at home without being afraid of destroying my room. It also makes my mum feel calm and happy.
Highest Quality Absolutely perfect for indoor practice during the horrible cold and wet winter months. The package was securely wrapped and delivered very quickly. Really impressed with the quality of the furisen shinai I would highly recommend. Thank you again Team Kendostar for your service!
Perfect size and weight... ...for indoor/normal ceiling practice, and strength training. Very well made, nice looking for a "dwarfy" looking shinai, it's an overall 5-star experience with this furisen.
Perfect! Super happy with the product, fits in my suitcase well so i can practice Suburi whilst travelling. Fast shipment, excellent service as usual.
Furisen suburi shinai Excellent product, quick dispatch and shipping. Excellent service by Kendostar. Answered all e-mail questions. Well done!
Muy adecuado para suburis en casa Ya lo he probado y me viene estupendamente para hacer suburis en casa y por su peso para desarrollar mejor la musculatura específica para Kendo. Creo que es una gran compra. Además vino muy rápido.
Perfect for training at home Great for training at home and working on strength building. The order was delivered promptly and in great condition. I look forward to training with this shinai in my apartment. Thanks to everyone at kendostar for excellent service and products to match.
Great suburi shinai Great suburi shinai. Nicely made with great quality "bamboo" and leather fittings. Perfect for suburi at home and on travel. The service is impeccable and very efficient. Ordered on a Wednesday evening, received in France on Friday. Perfect!
Little Buddy :) This is awrsome product for practicing suburi and building muscle for kendo. This little buddy is always near me and this is awesome addition to my daily kendo home workouts. Also, shipping is so fast. Great job Andy. Best regards from satisfied customer and young kendoka from Serbia. :)
Great Suburi Shinai This is great for suburi practice at home, plenty of weight to work the forearms and get muscle memory for Tenouchi and being short, you can use it everywhere indoors. Thanks KendoStar !
Great product for practicing at home, fast ship My home ceiling is too low. This product makes my practice easier.
Perfect for suburi at home I bought this shinai because I wanted to do suburis at home, and I could not practice with a regular shinai. I'm so happy to have bought this! It's sturdy, very well done, and it seems you're holding a real shinai. It weight is great to build strength. It's definitely a recommended buy!
Solid! Great build quality, this bad boy is a solid beast, definitely would help for everyday practice at home.
It's a beast! Wow, a solid heavy piece of Bamboo. I can now practice indoors (low ceilings). You certainly feel the effect of the 1kg after a short time. Going to be great for building strength and stamina.
Suburi at home Highly recommended for suburi at home, building muscle for kendo or threatening the cat!
Perfect As a total beginner I wanted to practice the basic movements also indoors at home (as dojos are still closed due to the pandemic). Having the ceiling not too far away, even though it sort of worked with a standard shinai, I was still "blocked" mentally as I was afraid to hit the ceiling with every move. That time's over now :) The shinai came even more solid than I expected it to be, it's just perfect.
Love it i have a low ceilling at home and wanted to rebuild a bit. it's perfect. you got the weight for balance and muscle training + the shinai handle. Arrived in paris in like 2-3 days.
Great indoor training product I wasn’t sure how this would work as I’m new to Kendo. However it works really well in an indoor training session. Excellent quality, good weight and balance. I use it daily. It’s also perfect for developing technique. Very happy with product, delivery and price. Well done KendoStar.
Perfect! Fantastic quality and it's short enough to be used in an area with low ceilings. Perfect for strengthen your muscles I strongly recommend it!
Great! Superb quality. Super fast delivery. Only took 3-4 days to arrive. Will shop here for all my Kendo needs moving forward. Going by to keep this next to my front door... intruders beware!!!
Essential! I put off buying one of these since I had a cut-off shinai I used for home practise, but I wish I hadn't! The weight is extremely satisfying, and promotes slow, correct suburi. Takes some getting used to for sure, but I can already feel the benefits. Can't recommend enough!
Nice and heavy! Very cool stuff! Short, balanced weight, great color, perfect for indoor practice!
Absolutely fantastic! I just recieved this suburito and I just can't seem to stop using it! No problem with suburi att home anymore!
