Good grip, but thick The handle is thicker than I remember, which was a great shock when I got the latest bundle. I love the octagonal grip, but the thickness needs some getting used to.

Interesting grip I go these shinais because it was suggested that the Octagonal grip would help with my tennis elbow. Still early days to see if it will help. The grip feels nice, though the 30cm diameter feels a bit too big in my hands. A slightly smaller grip would have ben ideal.

My new favorite I didn’t expect to get so positively surprised by this shinai! The octagonal handle feels super comfortable, and even if the grip is quite large (I’m used to 26mm round tsuka) I felt highly pleased during my first keiko with it. It’s labeled dobari, which it technically is, but the middle section isn’t overly big and there’s plenty of meat at the tip. Bravo!

Great quality I wanted to try something a bit different so figured I’d give the octagonal grip a go! The shinai itself is of great quality. Unfortunately for me, the balance is a bit tip heavy and feels very front heavy - at least on the one I’ve used so far, hopefully it’s just the one, as the handle and grip have been good!
