I really like the Kachi featherweight set. The gi is made from a lightweight quick-drying stretchy material that is essential for those engaging in high frequency practice. Machine washable and holds its colour (which is also a marvellous deep navy). The sizing was correct for me (size 3). Not entirely sure how a sleeve will stand up to an errant tsuki though. The hakama replicates the dark navy of the gi and the pleat-lock means that the drop is spot on. Again it’s good for those with several practices in a week as it’s light and quick-drying. I went one down on size from the recommended 26 to a 25, which is perfect. High standard of service as usual from KendoStar with rapid confirmation, dispatch, and delivery.

Amazing customer service, due to my own error I had to change the order quickly after it's been placed and the reply came within an hour. Shipment arrived with fixed size and on time. Pleat-locked hakama is such a time saver. It basically folds itself, even after being washed in a washing machine. Definitely will recommend and order again in the future.

The clothing is fine if you don't mind synthetic materials. It's quick to dry, so that makes it good for frequent training sessions.

The Kachi Elite Featherweight gi and hakama are amazing. I live in the desert and this is the perfect item to get as summer heats up - a great summer replacement for my heavy cotton uniform. Excellent construction and so light it feels like wearing practically nothing.

Great set for practice and hot time. Pros: - Gi feels so smooth and soft I could wear it at home. - Hakama is all stitched, you can just throw it in the bag after training or in the washing machine and it’s folded perfectly afterwards. Cons(super minor nitpicks): - The colour is almost black rather than dark blue - Size guide didn’t work for me (186cm tall). Size 28 fitted like a curtain, 27 was just right.

I’ve already ordered 2 sets, one for me and one for my wife. Who is as pleased as I am. The quality is simply fantastic, the weight or better the lack of it makes traveling more convenient, especially when you have to travel with more than one set. And last but not least you are always looking dressed tremendously well. Which I was told during today’s training. That’s why I, after years of usage, finally am writing a review. There is only one thing I’m missing: the same set in white. For we, Hōzōinryū practitioners from mokuroku upwards train in blue but demonstrate in white, I would immidiatly by another set. Please make that wish come true!

Perfect for everyday training, amazing This is by far my favorite gi/hakama set that I own. It's so lightweight and breathes very easily. It looks as good or better than some of my indigo died cotton gis, and to put the icing on the cake, it's extremely easy to care for. I don't have trouble lining up the pleats in the hakama, I just throw the gi through the wash. (I avoid doing that with the hakama, only because I worry about beating up the backplate, but I have done it on rare occassion on the gentle cycle!) and everything comes out just like it did the first day I opened the box. I'm very appreciative that KendoStar was able to bring such a fine product to market, and hope they continue to deliver quality like this set.

Great product! Beautiful uniform, handsome and very comfortable. The pleatlock does wonders to make the folding of the hakama super easy. I machine-wash the gi inside out and the hakama folded in a washing net, no problem at all, and they dry very quickly (in fact they are almost dry straight out of the machine, you can wash them in the evening and wear them in the dojo the day after!). Fast delivery to France. I'll definitly go to Kendostar again when I'll buy another uniform (maybe an aizome Kurenai with pleatlock, for special events ).

Super light and quick-drying! I was excited to get this, since I had a pair of hakama but I was, for once, too tall for it. So it was a perfect excuse to try the Kachi uniform! I'm so glad I did! Please do be sure to watch the video, because it's very helpful. It at once had a very different feeling from my first uniform, which was a COOL+ from Ebogu. I will say that both do dry quickly! Kachi's difference is that it's so lightweight that it feels like you're barely wearing anything, which is wonderful. In New Orleans, especially during summer training, this is crucial. The hakama flows neatly and has much longer himo. The hakama also seems a little heavier than the one I got from Ebogu, but the way the material moves is way more flowy. The fabric on both is very lovely and isn't scratchy at all. Plus, you can wash both in the washing machine and line dry. The gi dries in less than 30 minutes. I feel like a rather elegant kendo lady in this! Another important note from the perspective of a woman is that the gi fits well. Some gi will not cover the waist or chest properly, which can make the gi difficult to smooth down when making it look neat and presentable. No worries with this. Though it's a different kanji, I will use this and visualize victory.

Nice feel and appearance The Gi has a very gentle feel on the skin and doesn't catch or drag upon it. It's very easy to forget you're wearing something The Hakama has a very minimal weight presense even during fumikomi or suriyashi and the cross stitched pleat lock is a life saver for folding the hakama properly. without losing them

The Absolute Cleanest Look The super-deep navy blue is so very distinguished, you'll almost always look presentable. The sashiko weave on the kendogi looks extremely close to a traditional cotton kendogi, too. The material is such an absolute pleasure to wear, that I even can't help putting it on every now and then even when I'm not in the dojo, just because it's so comfortable. What I personally believe to be the absolute star of this set is KendoStar's Pleat-Lock Stitching. You'll maintain a good appearance at absolutely all times, even when you're battered and sweaty from finishing class. The stitches also make folding a breeze, the pleats and important folds basically fall into place. It's not just the pleats that are stitched in, but even some of the inside folds and groin area are stitched in so that the hakama gets folded perfectly every single time. Most importantly for me, the entire uniform is machine-washable. I don't have time for hand-washing at home, so being able to pop the uniform into the washing machine then resuming house duties is a godsend. The uniform also dries super-quickly, pretty much in a few hours' time. I also like to steam press wrinkles out of my clothes. The Kachi's material is quite wrinkle-resistant, all I had to do was press the most glaringly obvious ones, as well as creases made from folding the hakama. After that, the gi and hakama look absolutely immaculate. I don't think I can live without stitched in inner and also outer pleats now.

My new favorite uniform First off I train in iaido rather than kendo but I've been on the search for the perfect navy colored uniform for a number of years. The color on this uniform is absolutely beautiful, a very deep navy that can sometimes appear black. I live in Las Vegas where it is scorching hot for most of the year and I need a uniform that is light and breathable, in this respect the Kachi is amazing. It has to be the most comfortable uniform I've ever owned. I was very impressed with the Kachi overall in just about every aspect, not to mention how fast I received it. For the price it simply can't be beat. My only concern is the material on the hakama is pretty thin and since we do a lot of kneeling waza in iaido, I'm a bit worried that it my wear out sooner than some other hakama. But time will tell on that. I'm definitely going to buy a second one just to keep as a back up.

Great practice iniform It was time to replace my practice gi and I was looking for a set that is easy to maintain plus looks good. This set expected my expectations. I was expecting the lightweight qualities plus gi I can throw in the washer/dryer after each practice, but what exceeded my expectations were the look and the color. Best purchase decision I ve bought few cheap kendo uniforms from AliExpress over the last two years. It was a hit and a miss and around 15-20 days wait. When I join dojo recently, I decided go for this uniforms, amazing, as soon as u put on, u just can feel the difference. Buy it bit more expensive from kendostar(not as bad when on sale) buy it once.

Great for beginners I ordered this set because I wanted something light weight, breathable and comfortable. The fabric is soft enough, it feels like a proper sports shirt and it absorbs sweat well. The colour is very cool, I will see how it looks after a few washes. Great set for sure.

Stellar get-up I've always wanted a lighter kendogi to deal with how overheated I can get. This one feels light, yet durable, and is nice and breezy. The quality is outstanding and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for something lighter to work out in during the summer (or in my case, the whole of the Spanish year).

Light, Stretchy and Comfortable This is a very nice set. The synthetic gi is very stretchy, great for if you're a broader than average or growing. The pleat locks are a really nice feature on such light fabric. Good for exactly what it's advertised as!

Great option This is my first experience with a synthetic mold. Wonderful. Easy to wash, weight much less. The color is a little darker than usual, but I don't think it's bad.

My first uniform This was the first time i bought my uniform for kendo. Having recently started at aberdeen kendo club at beginners level i have had so much fun and enjoyed every moment of it. My club introduced me to kendo star and i am so glad thy did. As i am a bigger guy i wanted to make sure the size of my uniform was right, i got in contact gave my measurements and was recommended the best possible size and options. I recieved the best service i could have asked for and the product was perfect very very happy.

Great quality and convenience Got back into kendo after a 2 year break due to lockdowns and wanted to start off with a new uniform set. The kachi set is super convenient to be able to wash in the washing machine and still looks sophisticated. I passed my 4Dan Shinsa in this set as it looks very much classy and sharp, even for synthetic set. I highly recommend this set.

Great lightweight Kendo Uniform. This is my 2nd Kendo Uniform I've purchased. It's very lightweight compared to my first one. This makes it comfortable to wear, particularly when it's hot and also very easy to care for. It dries much faster than my original thicker one. It also looks great, it's a very dark blue - almost black and looks really smart. The Hakama will also become my regular Hakama with my 1st one relegated to 'spare'. Why? The material and the pleat-lock stitching, make it super easy to care for. The only caveat to the lightweight nature of this uniform is it won't provide the padding a thicker one will. So a missed Tsuki that prods your collar bone will leave a more substantial bruise. You will feel a stray Do strike that misses the armour more. Personally I think this is a small price to pay for feeling lighter and staying cooler, whilst having an extremely easy to care for uniform which you can easily wash between practices. Perfect for hot weather I was looking for something lighter for the summer. It meets all expectations. It's breathable, light, does'nt get heavier with sweat as you practice. And I obsolutely love that you can throw it in the dishwasher after every practice (and so does my girlfriend). Only downside is the trade off. It's lightweight so unlike the thick cotton that gives "some" protection, this one will not. But overall, it's still 5 stars!

Best uniform for practice I have gone through a few iterations of uniforms, but this is by far the best. It's very light and drys very quickly. Perfect for regular practice. 10/10 will recommend.

Great for regular practice I had my doubts about a 100% polyester Hakama as the previous Hakama model (Gaia) was a blend. The color is excellent, compared to other polyester Hakama out there, this one is not shiny and actually looks great. The pleats stay in place and it dries extremely fast as promised.

Great set This is my first hakama-gi set from the Kendostar. It was advised by my team member, and he was right. It's a very light dress, dries fast, not need to iron it. I'm sure, I will buy other set too.

Amazing set This set keeps all the promises it made in the description. It is extremely lightweight, drys very fast and is just a pleasure to wear. Didn't smell bad, like most other synthetic, on arrival and has a nice colour that does not fade. Definitely recommend this set if you practice 3-5 times a week as you can just toss it in the washing machine after practice and have it dry hanging overnight, ready to go the next day. The Pleat-lock is also amazing, i always had trouble folding my hakama as i have quite large legs which unfolded the pleats during practice. This set though is a delight to wear and fold.

Very Comfy Bought this as an alternative to my traditional set. Very light to wear and comfortable. Big bonus is being able to throw in the washing machine! Hakama holds it shape brilliantly with the sewn in pleats. What's not to like?

Fantastic Keiko gi and hakama set I have just received my second set and I'm as delighted with this one as I was with the first. I bought the second set because I am practicing 4 times a week at the moment and it just gives me an option to wash them in between sessions but in reality, you wouldn't need more than one set as these dry really quickly - I washed my set after practice and 1 hour later it was ready to go again. The quality and performance of both the hakama and the gi are exceptional. They are extremely light and very comfortable to wear. I would definitely recommend them.

Keiko at 40 above I might go on a bit below so just let me say that I received my Kachi set just before the hot season came on here in northern Thailand (April & May regularly practicing at 40/41, no air con) and it has been fantastic. Love it. I have a deep affection for aizome cotton and in general anything indigo dyed. I love the smell, I'm one of those that actually like the turning blue for awhile that happens when a new gi or hakama comes in. I love the tradition of it as well as the real functionality that it brings. So when I say that I also really appreciate the Kachi set, it is with this feeling for indigo embedded within. My original thought was that I would use it for the hot season and then switch over to my lighter weight indigo cotton gi and hakama when it starts to cool down some. Over here 32 is starting to get nice and cool! No doubt I'll do that, but I can also see that I'll be using my Kachi set regularly in the cooler times as well. I live up in the mountains and it can be extremely humid here and the cottons take forever to dry. Kachi set... not an issue. Dries quickly. Fantastic. I guess that's about it for me. I like it. I recommend it. And Kendostar, as usual, was exemplary in all aspects of the purchase.

Best Summer Set Ever I have a few different uniforms and while I love my Kiyoi cotton set as soon as it gets warm, this is gonna be my only set. Its super light weight and comfortable and folds beautifully. Absolutely wonderful kendogi, highly recommend.

Beautifully Presented Kendo Uniform The title says it all. It is also comfortable and so easy to maintain. Great for warmer weather use. The label on the back of the gi might feel scratchy when new if you have sensitive skin but that is an easy fix. Overall, if you are in search of a synthetic uniform, search no more. 100% Would buy again I bought this set in preparation for the impending return to the dojo and as such I have actual worn it yet but I can say that as usual KendoStar products are way above my expectations. 100% recommended I bought this gi and hakama as a second lighter set for hot summer days. With the current situation and the precautions we need to take (mouth masks, faceshields) it makes training more confortable while keeping the good looks. The practical side of this set is what really shines : fast drying, washable and always nice and tidy (there is a feature on the hakama with seams keeping all the pleats in position). Top class quality Didn't really know what to expect as it is my first Kendogi after years of wearing a Judogi - really pleased with the quality, light but feels strong, nice stretch in the Kendogi and the Hakana is a lovely fit, great dark indigo colour and the embroidery came out perfect.
