Just thought I’d let you know the follow up to a previous Kendo rant featured question of mine. I was quite fortunate in Dublin that although I didn’t get Keiko with Sumi Sensei and didn’t get an opportunity to ask him about Jodan during the seminar weekend I was super lucky as he did embu Keiko with the two Nanadans in attendance along with Tashiro Sensei and he decided to take Jodan in one of the bouts. Just from that mitorigeiko I think I got the answer to the question I would have asked him about balance and achieving tame in Jodan. From observing Sensei I got what I needed to move forward.
