Thanks Andy for this interesting video. I’ve watched your grading and the videos of your keiko once again. It definitely appears that you took the initiative throughout the bout. No matter what your opponent’s reactions were, you managed to show sutemi in your attacks and take the opportunity whenever you could, without trying to block your partner’s actions. This, I think, was quite appreciated.
On the other hand, so far as grading is concerned, I wonder if one should show more « gaman «, or the ability to control the opponent’s kime and shinaï after some successful strikes instead of repeatedly engaging your partner with your seme. I’d really like to know your feelings about that.
