To qualify to participate in the All Japan Kendo Championships, competitors from across Japan first must secure their place by either winning, or placing high enough in their regional qualifier. These qualifiers often double-up as the prefectural championships.
This video gives us a look at a selection of awarded points from the 2018 Tokyo Prefectural Championships, where the top 4 competitors (1st place, 2nd place, and both 3rd place) are able to participate in the All Japan Championships.
