This tsuba feels tough, and it's well made - it's even and flat; I bought a similar one a few years ago from another place and it's a bit crooked. The part I like the best about this tsuba is the hole size - it's may not be enough for shinai with extra-thick tsuka but I think it should fit all shinai with regular tsuka (but don't quote me, I haven't used all the regular size shinai in the world). I mentioned this point because I have leather tsuba that only fits my dobari shinai but not those "practice" types, which is inconvenient. I don't know if Andy actually check our reviews or anyone knows the answer - as my photos show, the other side of tsuba is not "shiny"; is this intentional to distinguish "front" and "back"? I didn't see this on other tsubas. Just curious.
Great Tsuba! Worked out quite well, great quality, and a lot better feeling and quality as the plastic ones imo.
Solid, good quality. Thick, rigid, easily machined to fit the shinai, and nicely finished and textured. There are some apparent tool marks but nothing major. The natural patterns in the leather are pleasing, like marvel.
Fantastic quality Great quality, very nice to look at. So much nicer than a standard plastic Tsubaki. Recommended!
I don't usually review tsubas... This a great quality tsuba. Perfect thickness and looks awesome. Adds a touch of tradition and class to my shinai. I'm usually disappointed when I buy leather tsubas without seeing them (over the web), not this time. Definitely need a few more.
