Made to order. Usually ships in 1 to 2 weeks.

The RASETSU Octagonal Grip Dobari Shinai draws its balance firmly towards the hands with a Dobari body fuller through the lower section, a thinner Jissengata tip, and a large grip. That grip is an octagonal Koban shape, which fits the palm closely and gives strong feedback on the angle of the Shinai.

Its name, 羅刹, comes from a fierce guardian figure in Japanese Buddhism. Like every model in the Premium range, RASETSU is made to your specification: choose your fittings and Tsuru colour, or order the bamboo only.

RASETSU Octagonal Grip Dobari Shinai with a broader profile, balance closer to the hands, 28 or 30mm large oval octagonal grip that supports Hasuji, and a choice of fittings

A Grip That Settles the Hands

The large octagonal Koban grip fits closely into the palm, strengthening the grip and helping the hands settle into the correct Tenouchi. Its shape also tells the hands how the Shinai is angled, supporting the correct Hasuji.

With the balance close to the hands and high tip control, RASETSU suits quick combinations, Oji-Waza that catch the opponent as they start to move, and exchanges at close distance, ready to take the smallest opening.

Made to Your Specification

Choose your fittings and Tsuru colour and receive your RASETSU fully assembled and ready to use, or order the bamboo only to fit with your own fittings.
