HAKU Large Short Grip Koto Shinai
A premium Koto Jissengata Shinai with a Tsuka that is both thicker and shorter, giving a distinctive balance for a very specific grip preference.
The HAKU Large Short Grip Koto Shinai is a Koto Jissengata Shinai with a Tsuka that is both thicker and shorter. The straighter Koto profile, with its thinner bulge, and the shorter grip give weight at the tip, while the thinner Jissengata tip and the thicker grip draw the balance back towards the hands, for a distinctive balance.
Its name, 魄, means spirit. Like every model in the Premium range, HAKU is made to your specification: choose your fittings and Tsuru colour, or order the bamboo only.

A Distinctive Balance
The Koto profile and the shorter Tsuka both move weight towards the tip, giving a strike that carries through. The thinner Jissengata tip and the thicker Tsuka balance this by bringing the centre of gravity back towards the hands.
HAKU suits bold Tobikomi-Waza and Ai-Waza from longer distance, where the tip weight and short grip come into their own, and it is equally at home with Oji-Waza.
Made to Your Specification
Choose your fittings and Tsuru colour and receive your HAKU fully assembled and ready to use, or order the bamboo only to fit with your own fittings.
